Chloe Hutchcraft Car Accident- Chloe Hutchcraft, a senior runner at Montezuma High School in Iowa, was in a serious car accident over the weekend. On August 28, 2023, she died from the injuries she got in the accident.
A Facebook page called North Mahaska Warhawks Athletic Boosters said that Chloe Hutchcraft, a member of the Montezuma golf team Bravettes, was in a major car accident over the weekend. The details of the accident are not clear. The report also said that Hutchcraft was in the ICU with life-threatening injuries and asked people to pray for her to get better.
But on August 28, many people in the community said on their Facebook pages that Hutchcraft had died from the injuries she got in the accident. The death of the teen was also reported on the website Caring Bridge, which said:
“Chloe Ann Hutchcraft was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at 1:00 pm today. Chloe passed peacefully surrounded by family. Please continue to pray for peace for Brad, Jessica, Jake, Aislyn, Sawyer and Tatum as they navigate through this time.”
Chloe Hutchinson GoFundMe gets more than $3,800 toward its $5000 goal
In the wake of the tragedy, $3,800 has been donated to a GoFundMe page set up to help the teen’s family. A lot of people gave money on the fundraiser page to help the family who had lost a loved one. The fundraiser said that on August 26, Chloe Hutchcraft was in a car crash and had to be flown to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. On the page:
“She was life-flighted to Mercy in Des Moines. She is in critical care due to her injuries. Right now the most important thing is prayers!”
After her death, people in Montezuma, Iowa, took to social media to talk about how much they loved the girl who had died. Dana Thompson-Desrochers wrote this on Facebook:
“Our community lost another sweet girl today. Please pray for her family, teachers, and the kids in our area. They’ve been through so much. Life is so precious! Cherish every moment because you never know when it will be your last!”
Another user who was supporting the victim’s family and friends said:
“Lifting Chloe up in prayer. Praying for healing and strength to her family and friends”
In the meantime, another person of the community said:
“Prayers to the Hutchcraft Family and Extended Families, on the passing of Sweet Chloe.”
Several other people in Montezuma, Iowa, also felt sad about the death of the skilled teen athlete.

Montezuma Magazine, a community newsletter, says that Chloe Hutchcraft led the Bravettes girls golf team to fourth place in the SICL event last year. Hutchcraft’s 18-hole score of 115 helped the Bravettes win the game, and he was named to the all-SICL first team.
On Tuesday, August 22, the head boys lacrosse coach at Carmel High School, Jack Meachum, was allegedly killed in a two-car crash. The crash killed the 31-year-old coach, who was well-known in the area. He was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
