Who Was Easton Devries?
Easton Devries was a 19-year-old boy who was full of life and energy. He was Jared and Jamie Devries’s much-loved son and a student at the neighborhood high school. Easton was fun to be around because he liked to try new things and had a great sense of humor. He had a lot of friends who liked sports and being outside as much as he did.
Easton’s life was built around sports. He played golf a lot and was a huge basketball and football fan. Whether he was playing or watching, sports gave him a lot of happiness and brought him closer to his friends. Easton also loved to ride his bike, which was another thing he did with a lot of energy.
Easton Devries Accident- What Happened To Him?
The bad thing happened just after 7 o’clock in the evening on Saturday, June 24. Easton was riding his bike in Clear Lake near where Bayside Avenue meets Lee Street. Tragically, he didn’t stop at a stop sign and hit a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Diane Beth Knudson, who was 57 years old and from Webster City.
Even though rescue workers from Mason City and Clear Lake got to the scene quickly, Easton was badly hurt in the crash. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Mason City right away for emergency care. Over the course of more than a month, doctors did everything they could to save Easton’s life, but on July 28th, he died from his injuries.
Easton Devries’ death hurt his family, friends, and the whole town of Clear Lake very much. Everyone who knew him was moved by his joyful spirit and love of life. The tragedy is a sad lesson of how important it is to stay safe on the road and follow the rules.
