VICTORVILLE: On Monday night, a motorcycle accident occurred on La Mesa Road in Victorville, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist and passenger.
At approximately 7:39 p.m. on October 2, 2023, the two riders were heading westbound on La Mesa Road when a sedan, traveling eastbound, attempted to make a left turn onto Petaluma Road. This maneuver led to a T-bone collision between the motorcycle and the car.
Emergency responders found both riders in the road with significant injuries, prompting a call for assistance from firefighters. Two helicopters were summoned to land at Desert Valley Hospital to airlift the injured individuals.
The injured riders were initially transported by AMR to Victor Valley Global Medical Center and later airlifted by helicopter to a trauma center for further medical attention.
In response to the accident, La Mesa Road was temporarily closed off between Petaluma Road and Cinnamon Lane. Deputies from the Victorville Police Department were on the scene to conduct an investigation into the crash.
The male driver of the sedan remained at the site of the incident and cooperated with officials. According to bystanders, he was working as an Uber driver and was in the process of picking up a passenger when the collision occurred.
Local residents in the area expressed their desire for increased police patrols and stricter enforcement of speed limits, which they believe are currently too high.
