Late Thursday night on October 3, 2023, a hit-and-run scooter accident on Ash Street left Richie Barragon seriously injured. The incident occurred at approximately 8:34 p.m. on the 400 block of Ash Street near 5th Avenue.

Reports indicate that a westbound vehicle collided with a motorized scooter rider traveling south along the west side of the 5th Avenue bike path. Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise before discovering the scooter rider lying face down on the roadway. Shockingly, the driver fled the scene without offering assistance or notifying the authorities.

Emergency medical responders rushed to the scene and transported the injured male victim, identified as 22-year-old Richie Barragon, to a hospital.
