In recent years, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart have become an unusual comedy duo. Here are their movies in order from worst to best.
Thanks to their similar senses of humor and the tension that comes from being a “odd couple,” Kevin Hart and The Rock have a lot of movies together that show how well they work together on screen. Their different sizes are often used to make them funny. So far, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart have been in five movies together. These movies range from silly comedies to family-friendly cartoon films to big-budget action movies, and the success of each Kevin Hart and The Rock movie is different.
Both stars got their start in different kinds of entertainment. Johnson was a wrestler at first, while Hart was a comic. Johnson’s first movie part was as The Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns, which came out in 2001. This gave him the chance to become a full-fledged action star in movies like Fast Five and San Andreas.
Before 2014’s Ride Along, Hart was best known for supporting parts in comedies like the Scary Movie movies and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Somewhere along the way, a smart producer realized that Kevin Hart and The Rock could make good comedies together, and they were right.

5. Central Intelligence (2016)
Kevin Hart and The Rock’s first movie together was Central Intelligence, which came out in 2016. It was about two high school friends who meet again when one of them is a CIA spy and the other is an accountant.Central Intelligence coasts on its casting. Johnson’s career of playing tough guys makes his teddy bear character even funnier, and Hart’s performance as the straight man is surprisingly good.
Central Intelligence got a good score of 71% on Rotten Tomatoes because of this smart decision. The problem is that the movie they’re in is a generic buddy comedy with a story so forgettable that it’s easy to think the filmmakers didn’t care about it either.
4. Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw (2019)
After helping to bring the Fast & Furious movies back to life, Johnson and Jason Statham got their own movie. Hobbs & Shaw is based on how Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw’s macho relationship made them fight in Fate of the Furious. Box Office Mojo says that the movie made more than $700 million at the box office, and Hart shows up in Hobbs & Shaw as an Air Marshall who helps the main characters. Even though he is not necessary to the plot, he is in one of the funniest parts of the Kevin Hart and The Rock movies.

3. Jumanji: The Next Level comes out in 2019
After the reboot of Jumanji became a surprise hit, Jumanji: The Next Level was almost a sure thing. Johnson is back as the video game avatar Xander Bravestone, and Hart is back as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar.
Danny Glover and Danny DeVito join the group as new characters. The Next Level is a fun adventure that is mostly the same as the 2017 movie. But because it is similar to the first movie, it lacks some of the excitement that the first movie had. This is why it only has a 71% score on Rotten Tomatoes. But it was fun to watch Johnson and Hart interact while doing their best versions of DeVito and Glover.
2. The DC League of Super-Pets (2022)
The DC cartoon Johnson and Hart movie was a bigger hit than The Rock’s Black Adam movie. DC League of Super-Pets is about animals with superpowers in the DC universe, like Krypto, who is played by Johnson, and Ace, who is played by Hart. Lex Luthor kidnaps the Justice League, and these pets have to save the day.
Keanu Reeves does the voice of Batman, and John Krasinski does the voice of Superman. Even though Johnson and Hart’s physical comedy chemistry is missing from the movie, the fact that the movie is still a hit with just their speaking performances shows how well they work together.
1. The 2017 movie Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

The most popular Kevin Hart and The Rock movie was able to start a series of movies for the two of them. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is the late sequel to the 1995 adventure film Jumanji, which starred Robin Williams. Despite all chances, it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable big-budget movies of 2017. It got rid of the Jumanji board game and replaced it with a computer game. The story had a lot of fun with the game mechanics and made a big deal out of the teens’ one-note avatars.
Karen Gillan and Jack Black round out the group of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The movie, like most Kevin Hart and The Rock movies, is more about the chemistry between the actors than the plot, but it also has a real sense of warmth. It also made more than $995 million, which, according to Box Office Mojo, made it the pair’s biggest financial hit.
Coming movies with The Rock and Kevin Hart
At this point, it’s not clear what Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart will do next, but there are a few titles that could happen. Black Adam and his dog were in the scene after the credits in DC League of Super-Pets. This was like how Black Adam hinted that Johnson and Henry Cavill would fight each other.
Even though Johnson’s ideas for a live-action DC movie didn’t work out, it’s possible that he and Hart could come back in an animated sequel. There is also a chance that Johnson and Hart will work together again on a remake to the first movie they made together. But Jumanji 4 is the most likely project where the stars will work together again.
What We Know About the Fourth Jumanji
Since Jumanji was the most successful movie starring Kevin Hart and The Rock, fans can expect the series to continue. After Johnson and director Jake Kasdan finish making their movie Red One, the makers of Jumanji said that the second movie will go ahead. Johnson and Hart are likely to come back with the rest of the main group.
The plot of Jumanji 4 hasn’t been released yet, but it’s likely to be similar to the mid-credits scene of Jumanji: The Next Level, in which Spencer’s mom and a mechanic get sucked into the game and some of Jumanji’s animals escape into the real world.
This is the first time that something from the game has happened in real life in the reboot movies, and it shows a more clear connection to the original Robin Williams movie. This also makes it possible that in Jumanji 4, the video game avatars (played by Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Johnson, and Kevin Hart) will connect with the teenagers who have been playing them.
As for when Jumanji 4 might come out, it probably won’t be for a while, since Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart are busy with other projects right now.
