Who Was Clinton Glasscock?

Clinton went to St. Xavier High School and was a great tennis player. He graduated in 1989. In 1988 and 1989, he and Chris Bohnert, who was his doubles partner, played for St. X in the State Championships.

Clinton went to Furman University and got his degree in 1993. He was on the tennis team at Furman for four years. In 1992, he won the Regional Championship. Clinton was a TKE Fraternity member.

After college, Clinton moved back to his hometown of Louisville and got a job as an insurance executive, which he did well at. In 2000, he bought the Old Colony Insurance Agency with his cousin Jimmy Dan Conner and Danny McMahan. This company did well and in 2010 it was sold to BB&T. In 2020, BB&T sold the insurance part of the business to the McGriff Insurance Agency, where Clinton continued his work.

Clinton was very involved in his community. He served on the boards of Maryhurst Big Springs, Junior Achievement Board, The Kentucky Derby Museum, and Bellarmine Board of Overseers. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) for a long time.

Recently, he combined his love for St. X, the game of tennis, and the spirit of competition by working as an assistant coach for the St. X tennis team. The players liked “Coach Clint” right away, and he did more than just coach them. On “Tiger Talk Tuesdays,” he brought back stars from St. X’s past to share their knowledge with the team.

Clinton loved sports and racing his whole life. As he got better at thoroughbred racing and made more friends at the top levels, he came to like “The Sport of Kings” the most. In 2010, he became a partner in Starlight Racing. This led to many “Once in a Lifetime” events, like Justify’s Triple Crown run in 2018 and Authentic’s wins at the Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup Classic in 2020. He also started Two Dimes Stables and helped run Northstar Racing as a co-managing partner.
