According to a crash report from MSHP, the Hyundai Accent was traveling eastbound on Groby Avenue, east of Gay Avenue. The vehicle was traveling too fast for the conditions and the driver did not negotiate a left curve.

The Ladue School District is sad about the deaths of three of its kids and is helping people who are also sad. On its website, the district put out a message that said:

“It makes us very sad to hear that three of our high school kids died in a car accident this morning. Even though we don’t know a lot about this heartbreaking event, the families of our students are in our minds.

As a result of this tragedy, grief counselors and our district’s crisis intervention team are on hand to help our students and staff today and over the next week. The health and safety of our students and staff is and always will be our top concern.

The district also asked that anyone with a memory of the kids share it on its Facebook page in the comments section. Many people have shared condolences and tributes on social media to show how sad and shocked they are that three young people died.

The district also said that a vigil for the kids will be held at Ladue Horton Watkins High School Stadium on September 9 at 7 p.m. The vigil will be held in honor of the kids and will be open to the public.
