On a Thursday evening, law enforcement agencies received a distress call at the Southern Miss Parking Garage, situated on the university campus. Witnesses reported a significant presence of police vehicles around 7 p.m., and additional law enforcement officers were observed near the Thad Cochran Center Parking area, closely associated with the university in Hattiesburg, MS.
