In an unrelated incident in Tyler County, the discovery of a deceased man on U.S. 69 has prompted an investigation by deputies from the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office. Responding to multiple 911 calls reporting a body on U.S. 69 south, near County Road 1065, deputies and DPS troopers arrived at the scene around 5:30 a.m. A deceased man was found next to a truck parked on the southbound lane shoulder. The area was secured, and evidence collected. The Jefferson County Forensic Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death in this ongoing investigation.
