Rachel Stone Car Accident- Rachel Stone, a physical education and health teacher at Lee’s Summit High School, died on Thursday, February 16, when a tractor-trailer hit her car on the U.S. 50 Highway. The accident is being looked into by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, which is trying to figure out what happened.
Thursday morning, the highway police called the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office to ask for help after a crash at the intersection of the U.S. 50 Highway and the 7 Highway.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says that the tractor-trailer lost control on icy roads and crashed into cars coming the other way, including Rachel Stone’s. Even though the tractor-trailer driver was able to stay alive, Stone was said to have died at the scene.

Summit Lanes Lees Summit’s main Facebook page shared their sadness by saying that Rachel Stone was behind all the posts on their page over the years. They found out that she taught and coached for about 20 years in the Lee’s Summit School District. In addition,
“Please join us in sharing condolences for the Stone and Keltner families, many of whom have also worked at Summit Lanes, including our dear friend Judy. Rachel, you will be missed.”

Rachel Stone began working as a teacher in 1997. She taught for 25 years at Lee’s Summit High School and had two kids.
Kari Harrison, the principal of Lee’s Summit High School, sent an email to the staff and parents of the kids to let them know that she had died. What was said was:
“Mrs. Stone was a dedicated educator who will be missed throughout the LSR7 community.”
It also said that she helped guide the girls’ volleyball team and that her husband, Scott Stone, is a teacher at Bernard Campbell Middle School. The statement also said that their school community is based on relationships and that it can be hard to deal with events like this.
