Kiely Rodni was fully identified by the Nevada County coroner following an autopsy conducted on the body recovered from Prosser Creek Reservoir over the weekend.
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the human remains found inside the Honda CRV pickup truck, which was pulled out of the lake by the Aventura con Propósito diving team, belong to the girl who disappeared after attending a party on August 6.
Following the retrieval of Kiely’s vehicle from the reservoir, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office conducted an autopsy. Footage shared by the Aventura con Propósito team revealed the license plate 8YUR127 on the truck, matching the plate provided by Kiely’s family for her silver Honda CRV on the day she went missing.
While awaiting official confirmation, authorities have stated that it is highly likely that the body found inside the truck is that of the missing person.
The search for Kiely Rodni spanned 16 days since she vanished on August 6 after attending a party at Prosser Family Campground in the Tahoe National Forest.
Kiely’s mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, reported her daughter missing when she did not return home as expected, prompting an investigation.
The family of the young girl expressed their gratitude to all the individuals and teams, including volunteers, friends, and law enforcement, who participated in the search efforts.
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office has noted that the investigation into Kiely Rodni’s disappearance and death is ongoing.
